The card issuer may impose a finance charge from the date you use your card or from the date each transaction is posted to your account, so if your card includes a free period, the issuer mails your bill at least 14 days before the due date so you’ll have enough time to pay without interest charges being added afterwards.

Of course interest rates are not as important as the grace period for those people who apply for a credit card and always pay there balance off immediately but without the grace period they will always owe additional interest not shown on the balance. Don’t forget that when you apply for a credit card it may have other charges to be paid like a membership, monthly charge and an extra charge for withdrawing cash.

It is always good to know that you will have a sympathetic ear from your credit card company and something you need to remember when you apply for your credit card. One benefit that attracts the frequent flyers is the addition of air miles although this is not something that appeals to everyone.

Sometimes when you apply for a credit card it only requires a signature at the bottom of the pre-approved application but that does not mean that it will be the best one for you to own.
